NERVES Member Profile: Steve LeMoine

Steve LemoineMy name is Steve LeMoine, and I am the Vice President for Infirmary Health's Cardiovascular and Neuroscience service lines. I joined the health system in October 2020 and joined NERVES shortly after my arrival at Infirmary Health. I have the opportunity to partner with Dr. Ankit Gulati, my dyad physician leader, and an outstanding team among Infirmary for the growth, strategy and quality improvement of the service line. Our model focuses on neurovascular (stroke), neuro/ortho spine, neuro tumor and a variety of other patient care areas (today), with a vision of expanding our areas of focus every year!

Prior to joining Infirmary Health, I had the opportunity to work in many exciting roles that engaged the community, patients and hospital team members. These roles were both operational and strategic, at a local hospital level, physician practice and healthy system level.

Our Neuroscience Center of Excellence is comprised of many clinical teams from the hospital and private setting. We work in a collaborative manner to bring the highest quality of care to our region and support our Vision to be the FIRST CHOICE for healthcare in the Region. Our service line engages specialists from Neurology, Neurosurgery, Interventional Radiology, Critical Care, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Ortho/Spine and Neuro/Spine surgery, just to mention a few.

The most exciting part of this role is bringing the highest quality care in our region to the community. This takes our entire team and we are committed to discussions that ensure the best care is being delivered while we continue to grow our clinical capabilities. One area in particular we are focused strategically on is the growth of Neurovascular (stroke) capabilities throughout our health system.

Family PhotoNERVES has been a great team to engage when questions arise in the neurosurgery or overall Neuro service line discussion. I am constantly engaging other team members in our health system on the excellent webinars NERVES hosts. The coding, strategy and new product webinars help us formulate ideas around strategy, quality and program development that might not occur just internally. NERVES hosts an annual meeting where leaders in physician practices, hospitals or health systems can meet in person to hear about the latest topics of interest and network with others. The annual meeting is one I strive to attend annually, but even if I cannot attend, the monthly webinars are key in keeping updated within the NERVES community.

Outside Infirmary Health and this outstanding Neuroscience service line, I enjoy spending time with my family and seeing them enjoy all their sports activities. My family helps complete that “work – life” balance we all strive for and I am blessed to have them on this journey of healthcare with me.
