July 2022 Education Committee Report

Committee Members: Carrie Bennett, Antoine Curtis, Galyn Damiani, Kelly Hornbacher, M.J. Orellano (chair), Alex Palleschi, Jim Shea, Stacey Snodgrass, Kathy Tobin (past chair), Mark Vorherr, Melissa Klingberg (NERVES).

The Education Committee is responsible for creating educational opportunities for NERVES members throughout the year. We are pleased to welcome two new committee members this quarter: Carrie Bennett from the Neurological and Spine Institute of Savannah and Mark Vorherr from Mayfield Clinic.  We have a great balance of private practice, hospital-based practice and academic practice to represent our membership on our committee.

We appreciate your feedback and welcome any suggestions for upcoming webinars. The NERVES Education Committee continues to respond to meet the educational needs of our members in this rapidly changing environment.  We were pleased we could provide a special “pop-up” webinar in June to address the unpleasant threat we face in today’s environment “Preparing for and Recovery from Active Shooter Event” presented by Steve. If you did not have a chance to attend the webinar, our content remains available for viewing here.

We are excited to offer a virtual mini-conference on August 18, 3pm to 5 pm EST.  The min-conference will focus on Faculty recruitment and onboarding and employee engagement for staff. We hope you will join us for the opportunity to hear some best practices to apply for faculty and staff.

Great News! You can now view all of the NERVES past webinars online by clicking here.

Many of our committee members have also been involved in planning our first NERVES Spine Conference “Building the Best” https://www.nervesadmin.com/2022-building-the-best-conference

We would love to hear from you. If you have other requests, please send them to any of the education committee members listed above.

We hope to see you in Chicago in September.
