Kevin RuddKevin A. Rudd Jr. serves as the Director of Clinical Operations for the Department of Neurosurgery at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia. In this leadership role, he oversees operational strategy and administrative management for one of the region’s leading academic neurosurgery programs, supporting physicians and multidisciplinary teams delivering highly specialized neurological care. Kevin has been part of Jefferson Health’s Neurosurgery leadership team for several years, supporting the continued growth and operational excellence of the department.

Jefferson’s neuroscience program is nationally recognized for treating complex neurological conditions including brain tumors, neurovascular disease, stroke, minimally invasive spine disorders, skull-base surgery, and advanced endovascular neurosurgery. Kevin’s leadership focuses on strengthening operational efficiency, improving patient access, optimizing clinical workflows, and ensuring seamless coordination across clinical, surgical, and administrative teams.

What Kevin Loves About His Role

Kevin is passionate about supporting physicians and clinical teams who treat some of the most complex neurological conditions in medicine. Neurosurgery is a high-stakes specialty where operational leadership plays a critical role in ensuring patients move efficiently from diagnosis to treatment. He takes pride in developing systems and processes that allow clinicians to focus on delivering life-changing care to patients and families navigating difficult diagnoses.

Prior Experience

Kevin’s professional background is rooted in healthcare operations and clinical practice management, where he has led teams, improved operational workflows, and supported multidisciplinary physician practices within academic medical centers. Prior to his current role, Kevin served as Director of Financial Operations at Cooper University Health Care, where he was responsible for financial oversight and operational strategy supporting hospital service lines.

Early in his career, Kevin worked as a New Jersey EMT and served as Captain of the Palmyra Ambulance Squad, where he developed a strong foundation in emergency medical services, leadership, and patient care.

Professional Development & Education

Kevin is currently completing his Executive MBA at Villanova University, with graduation scheduled for March 2026. The program has strengthened his expertise in leadership, finance, and strategic decision-making.

Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Neumann University in 2011.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family and supporting his children’s activities. He is actively involved in youth sports and coaches his children’s baseball teams. Kevin also enjoys playing guitar and performs in a band for fun, using music as a creative outlet outside of his professional responsibilities.
