Magee Resource Group has been retained by Southern Illinois Healthcare to recruit a seasoned Neurosciences Service Line Executive Director.
  • The Hospital System:

  • The Position:
    This Executive Director of the Neurosciences Service Line, is a newly created role that reports to the Administrator of Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. This person will be charged with the development and implementation of strategic plans for the local, regional, and international growth of the neurosciences service line. The Executive Director will also implement a comprehensive physician recruitment and retention plan while overseeing referring physician, payer, and patient communications. A main focus of this new position will be the analyzing and prioritizing of new business opportunities appropriate for increasing volume and services. They will also oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of the MHC Primary Stroke Center.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a master's degree in health administration or a related business field and have 10 years experience in developing, overseeing or interacting with physician groups and product lines in a large, complex medical center. This person will also have demonstrated experience in analyzing competitive healthcare environments and developing/implementing strategic recommendations for improved market share in a dynamic industry. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated leadership and communication skills and an ability to influence, collaborate with, and motivate others.

Position Title:
Director of Neuro-Spine/Ortho

Description & Requirements:
The Roper St. Francis Neuro/Ortho-Spine Center provides surgical and non-surgical care for problems involving the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. The facility offers surgical and medical services for patients diagnosed with primary and metastatic brain tumors, stroke, seizures, back and neck problems, brain tumors, aneurysms, and other diseases or disorders of the brain, spinal cord and nervous system.

The Director of Neuro-Spine/Ortho will report to the CEO, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, and will direct and manage the operations, strategic planning, marketing and business development, patient (or other customer) satisfaction, profitability and clinical outcomes (where applicable) within the Neuro/Ortho-Spine Service Line. He/She will facilitate the planning, organization, implementation and control of the resources needed for optimal performance of the service line in coordination with the various physicians, clinicians and other support staff personnel. The Director will work closely with the Medical Staff to set service line goals and objectives, and develop implementation plans to ensure that said goals and objectives are achieved.

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor degree: MHA/MBA preferred
  • Experience: Eight to 10 years progressive management experience
  • Knowledge/Skills: Management principles including managing medical staff relationships, health planning, financial planning and analysis, reimbursement, contract negotiations, construction planning, problem solving, TQM, human resource development and planning. Knowledge of DHEC, JCAHO and other applicable regulations impacting the particular service line. Additional skills required include:
    • Skilled in identifying problems and recommending solution;
    • Ability to analyze data (clinical, financial and marketing), identifies trends and applies data to decision-making process;
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing;
    • Ability to actively participate and contribute at all levels of the organization when necessary;
    • At a minimum, possesses a working understanding of the clinical care of the neurospine and orthopedic patient;
    • Other – Fluent in system-wide PC applications Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of clinical systems where applicable which may include WINPFS, STAR, CareManager, etc.

Spine Center Clinic Manager

Description & Requirements:
As Manager of the Spine Center Clinic at UT Southwestern, you will oversee the clinic’s operations, including: ensuring the clinic’s financial performance; monitoring clinical policies, compliance and standards; implementing marketing plans; maintaining a centralized patient database; and other planning and reporting as needed. You will also supervise the clinic staff’s workflow and performance, providing mentoring and facilitating communications among staff, physicians and patients.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field, and at least 5 years responsible administrative experience in a patient care environment, to include at least 2 years supervisory experience. Must have knowledge of budget preparation, medical billing and CPT coding. Knowledge of Epic and Epic Resolute billing system preferred.
